Robyn is our Professional Development and Recruitment Coordinator who spent ten years teaching and leading in inner-city London schools prior to this role. She has a passion for English, which led her to study for an MA in Children’s Literature at Goldsmiths. Robyn has written several whole school curriculums, all of which stem from high-quality picture books. She has extensively researched the benefits of exploring a range of concepts with children through texts and has conducted research studies into the representation of ethnicity in children’s literature.
Throughout her career, Robyn has enjoyed developing a range of different partnerships. She has collaborated with UNHCR and NaTakallam to connect children with refugees around the world, to share their experiences and bring awareness to the next generation. In 2021, she worked with the BBC to bring ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies to life. She created resources to accompany the animation to encourage children to re-wild their local area.
Robyn has experience of working in schools where children’s mental health and well-being is of paramount importance and brings her understanding of this to her role at Minds Ahead. She has a dog called Crawford who also attended school for several years as a therapy dog. She enjoys walking along the beach with him at the weekend.
