Partnerships Specialist

Part-Time – 3 days a week. Hours can be spread over 4 or 5 days if preferred

Maternity Leave cover

Salary: 32k FTE, actual salary for 3 day: £19,200pa 

Location: London (or within commuting distance of London).

Work from home with regular office work, at least 2 days per month. (Central Lewisham, or central London).

Start date: ASAP

As the Partnerships Specialist, your passion will be to identify, foster and build powerful business relationships with diverse organisations and people that yield results and increase opportunities for schools. You will be committed to driving innovation within school mental health, focused on quality and evidence-based solutions that tackle the mental health challenges schools and colleges face.  

Purpose of the role: the partnerships specialist will be responsible for ensuring that Minds Ahead resources and knowledge reach more places by seeking new customers, funders, and bidding opportunities. They will be responsible for effective relationship management, ensuring an effective follow-up to these opportunities. They will ensure that the Minds Ahead brand has a greater impact and that our recognition and standing in the sector improve, resulting in organisational growth. 

The Partnerships Specialist will: 

Be an innovative and practical Business Development expert: 

  • Seeking and responding to commercial opportunities to expand the work of minds ahead by making initial contact with prospective customers, following up on leads and managing early-stage communications with these. 
  • Support the effective relationship management of prospective customers, drafting proposals for work, writing tenders for work and other activities aimed at securing new business
  • Seek bidding and tendering opportunities and work with colleagues as needed to respond to these opportunities. 
  • Develop proposals, applications, or bids for work and pitch for work at interviews, meetings and other forums as needed. 
  • Be responsible for the income targets for our consultancy, design work, research and related projects, and other income,  rigorously tracking sales income, communicating with the CEO, and removing obstacles which are limiting the achievement of sales income.
  • Support public relations, raising the awareness of Minds Ahead by organising and attending conferences and events; coordinating webinars and blogs; identifying and attending speaker events; identifying and supporting award and funding applications; gathering student feedback to illustrate impact

Be adept at Customer Relationship Management:

  • Responsible for the ongoing management of an effective CRM tool, establishing an effective system that is used by all staff who require information about our prospective customers, students and alumni. 
  • Manage relationships with several, diverse organisations and people, identifying opportunities for joint working, bidding or new work streams
  • Foster out alumni community, a group of inspired school leaders, who support Minds Ahead’s work in a variety of ways. 
  • Once work is secured, to play a leading part in the project management of these projects including delivery on these projects as appropriate. Project management will be assigned once the specifics of the work is known. 

Oversee the Minds Ahead Brand:

  • Manage and contribute to the strategic development of our brand, including embedding powerful, engaging and motivating messaging into all literature and supporting the communication of this internally and externally.
  • Develop an annual brand improvement plan, review its work and effectiveness regularly and take remedial action as needed to ensure that outcomes are achieved
  • Provide support and guidance to the Minds Ahead team and third parties to ensure our branding is consistent and reinforced.
  • Develop and co-create relevant content and bespoke landing pages to launch new products and increase conversions.
  • Provide business support, including providing secretarial support for board meetings; organising team days and assisting with general business activities as identified by the CEO.
  • Be responsible for the income targets for consultancy, design work, research and other project-specific work
