Joanne Cammish

Joanne Cammish

Joanne grew up in Manchester and now lives in East Yorkshire with her drummer husband and their two girls.

Her background is predominantly in education with a rich variety of roles including a teaching placement in a school summer camp in Poland, an early years teacher in a nursery setting in the Netherlands, a primary consultant for a Local Authority, Classroom Leadership Senior Officer and an accredited Teacher Leader. After some time out to concentrate on family life, her more recent experience included the eye-opening privilege of working as an Occupational Therapy assistant for an NHS C&YP Community Team which led her to a post as a 1:1 teaching assistant. The child required multi-agency support where the parent partnership was inspirational so this gave her further insight into successful whole school approaches.

As a Learning and Development Programme Coordinator at Minds Ahead, Joanne will be supporting Claire with the School Mental Health Specialist programme and supporting Jo with the DFE programmes and other Centre of Excellence programmes

Joanne is a passionate advocate of positive mental health and wellbeing for young people and all individuals. So on that note, for her own mental wellbeing, she loves to be outdoors, taking long walks whatever the weather, usually with their family dog, Layne.
