Clare Martin

Clare Martin

Clare first discovered her passion for teaching while working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school in Australia. She went on to gain a first-class honours degree in Psychology and a PGCE that led her to teach psychology in Switzerland and Cornwall before settling in North Wales. Here she worked in an F.E College teaching psychology and coordinating a successful Access to H.E Healthcare Diploma. Throughout her time as a teacher, she observed the mental health challenges that exist and developed a special interest in positive psychology – a field that brings a scientific approach to understanding resilience, wellbeing and flourishing.

Having completed an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and qualified as a Psychological Coach, Clare began to work full time designing and delivering training about mental health and resilience. She has worked with a wide variety of corporate clients, charities and educational organisations both across the UK and internationally.

As a Learning and Development Specialist at Minds Ahead, Clare will be focused on the delivery of the DfE approved programmes, including the School Mental Health Specialist PGDip and Masters in School Leadership of Mental Health

When not working, Clare has two main passions: salsa and the outdoors. Whether it is dancing, climbing, surfing or cycling, having the freedom to step away from work is important for her to refocus, be more productive and maintain the drive to further support others.
